Are You Seeking after Truth and Knowledge Everyday?
Growing up, my mom always read self-help books. I thought it was weird. I didn’t understand why she wanted to read books that would help her learn about happiness and strengthening your relationships. I thought we should just already know how to do that. It was all a little bit weird to me as a child.
But as an adult, I realize my mom had it right!
We have so many responsibilities as moms. We have so many relationships that we are cultivating; trying to strengthen our home and our relationship with God. As I look back, I realize that my mom has always been a bright, intelligent woman that knew how to find strength to help her learn how to become her best self! I am so grateful for that example.
As we seek for truth in which books to read, which podcasts to listen to, which social media accounts to follow, which courses to take, we NEED to seek God’s direction. He has gifted each of us with talents to serve others. We need His guidance to direct us to those who are best for our growth. We will know in our spirit what is truth. We can feel it. We feel moved as we read their books, their Instagram posts, their blog, listen to their podcasts. We know that they are speaking truth!
I pray that you have found people to encourage you, to enlighten your mind as you go through your life.
Some of my favorite people include Wendy Watson Nelson. She speaks directly to my heart, as she shares her testimony of Jesus Christ!
Brendon Burchard teaches about habits that we can improve to become more effective and efficient.
Hal Elrod teaches about creating morning routines that create peace and progress.
I love listening to the podcast, the Life Coach School by Brooke Castillo. She teaches you how to strengthen your mind by changing your thoughts which create your feelings, which create your actions, and these actions create your results.
When do you find time to strengthen your mind?
I listen to podcasts or books while I get ready in the morning, when I make dinner, fold the laundry, drive in the car (as long as I'm not jamming out to my Christian Rock favorites!).
I love to get up early in the morning to write in my Anchor Planner and spend 15 minutes in my closet reading when the house is quiet and my spirit and body are fresh. I can feel the guidance of the spirit there in that moment! It is here that I am guided with inspiration to direct me as a wife, mother, and daughter of God.
It doesn't matter what time you strengthen your mind. You need to make sure you are learning everyday. Listening and acting on these truths that are taught to you will bring you joy and purpose!
How are you strengthening your mind everyday? Who inspires you? Let’s collaborate in the comments so we can each learn from all the gifts and talents that God has given to each of us.
